Arabic Typography Magazine

We were introduced to the basic principles of Arabic typography and tasked with creating a multi-page type specimen that highlights English and Arabic typography. The patterns within this work were created using Arabic type form, and one quote was highlighted in the composition.

I didn’t have a clear idea of what to do at first, but while experimenting with different Arabic typefaces, I began creating unique patterns. After selecting my two favorite patterns, I enlarged them so they extended beyond the borders and arranged the text in different directions. I placed the Arabic quote in the center and mirrored it to give it a stronger visual presence. Finally, I chose vibrant colors that added emphasis and guided the viewer’s eye around the design.
