Part One: The Beginning & Brainstorming

After rebranding from Four Design to Limestone Creative, a team member and I were tasked with creating content and graphics for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. Together, we planned a weekly posting schedule in Excel based on holidays, upcoming events, etc.

Part Two: Designing

LIMESTONE CREATIVE INTRODUCTION

To start off, I created a studio introductions post, basically an Instagram carousel introducing Limestone Creative's mission, values, etc.

For the introductions post, I used our main brand color, lime, and drew inspiration from an airdrop concept for the cover page to grab attention. I also incorporated some of our decorative assets to make it visually engaging. I thought the black and lime caution-tape element would be fun to include, as it aligns with our playful, bold brand personality.

Depending on the platform, we adjust the content and design to fit its specific audience. For example, LinkedIn has a more professional tone, so we avoid overly playful designs. In contrast, Instagram allows for more creative freedom.

CLIENT FEATURE

For the client feature post, I incorporated elements from the introduction post to maintain brand consistency and keep the page as cohesive as possible.

APPLICATIONS ANNOUNCEMENT

Then I created a cute graphic announcing that applications for our studio were open. I mostly played around with the fill and outlines of one of our design elements and included a photo we took of our entire studio.

SPRING BREAK STORY

Next, we thought a post or story announcing our spring break would be a nice way to let our followers know why we’d be taking a week-long hiatus. Again, inspired by our more playful studio identity, I thought a word-search theme would be a fun and nostalgic way to make the announcement. I created both a basic static post and an animated, word-search-themed story. For the story, I used After Effects to animate the circling and crossing-off effects.

SPRING BREAK VLOG

To make the most of our spring break, we thought it'd be fun to create a montage showing how some of our studio members spent it. We asked four members to record a few-second clips throughout their spring break, and my team member, Demetrya, later pieced them together and edited them in Adobe Premiere Pro. While she worked on the video, I searched for royalty-free background music, listening through numerous tracks to find one that best matched the overall vibe of the clips.

APRIL FOOLS PRANK

After our spring break vlog, April 1st rolled around, and I thought it would be fun to create a reel of our studio members pranking our creative director, Bri. Since playful and engaging content is very on-brand for our studio, I thought a prank reel would be the perfect way to celebrate April Fools Day! While discussing different prank ideas, Demetrya and I eventually decided on the classic “there’s a mouse in the classroom” prank, except the “mouse” was actually a computer mouse, not a real one. I recorded most of the footage, and Demetrya also filmed another angle to add variety. After we pulled the prank, Demetrya edited the footage on TikTok.

INDIGO DESIGN AWARDS

Lastly, we won a couple of awards at the international Indigo Design Awards competition, so we wanted to share the good news! I placed the Indigo Design Awards tag at the top of the post, along with the category we won. I then arranged the materials we submitted into a visually appealing layout to showcase our work.

Part Three: Final Thoughts

Overall, I had a lot of fun coming up with content ideas for our social media platforms. One of the main challenges I faced was finding royalty-free audio tracks. Because we were technically affiliated with a “business” account, we couldn’t use many trending audio clips due to copyright restrictions. This was unfortunate because I believe mainstream, trending sounds can be a major way to increase recognition and engagement on social media.

After creating these graphics and reels, I realized that if I continue making content for our Instagram, I would focus more on reels. While static posts still have their place, I think short-form video content is what audiences engage with most, making reels a better way to capture attention and reach more people.
