AAF: Addy Revue
For this project, we were asked to design materials for the American Advertising Federation Awards. The AAF in Roanoke hosts an annual event at the Jefferson Center to celebrate nominees across various design-related categories.
For 2026, the theme was Off Broadway, so we brainstormed different creative directions inspired by that concept. Eventually, the "Addy Revue" concept was selected, and we began sketching ideas based on the Addy Revue mood board. I thought it would be visually interesting and engaging to incorporate a first-person point-of-view approach into the graphics, giving viewers the feeling that they were one of the nominees. One of the sample messages was "Step into the Spotlight." Inspired by that phrase, I sketched an image of feet stepping onto a stage, lit by a spotlight, to capture that defining moment. Another concept I explored involved someone revealing a different world of Broadway to the audience. After receiving feedback from my team and creative director, I refined the Step into the Spotlight concept. The client, AAF in Roanoke, responded positively to that direction as well as another concept created by one of my teammates. In the end, we moved forward with two final graphics for the AAF Awards event.
